Meet the Founder: Amelia
Amelia is a first-generation college student with a passion for social entrepreneurship.
Though her family is from the 10th smallest country in the world, Amelia believes she can conquer the Big Apple.
Amelia graduated as the valedictorian of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 2024 and is currently studying economics at Harvard College.
Amelia's efforts in high school culminated in the Elks National Foundation Scholarship, Local 94 Scholarship, and Young Women's Leadership Award.

If Amelia isn't cramming for a test or fulfilling Smarts4Heart administration tasks, you'll probably find her training for her next half-marathon or unwinding with a card game.

My Vision
Amelia seeks to continue fostering an uplifting community of high school & college sitters/tutors through the growth of her organization.
As a Youth Advisory Council member of Ronald McDonald House New York, Amelia sought to merge her babysitting & tutoring background with her mission to fundraise money for a notable cause.

By connecting the demand for accessible job opportunities from high school & college students with families in need of reliable sitters/tutors, the vision of Smarts4Heart was born.

My Tutoring Journey
April 2022 - November 2023
Primary Instructor
I found my first 'real' work opportunity at my local Kumon center, located only three blocks away from my high school. There, I prepared students' workstations by allocating worksheets based on lesson plans. Later on, I was responsible for hosting orientation sessions with new parents and initiating the sign-up process.
I began my volunteer tutoring journey on Learn To Be with a student in 6th grade. After tutoring online twice a week for a few months, I joined Learn To Be's Junior Board, where I collaborated with the CEO to fulfill administrative tasks and develop promotional content.
February 2023 - September 2024
Tutor, Junior Board Member
May 2023 - June 2024
Upon scoring in the 99th percentile on the SAT Exam, I led two four-week-long SAT Bootcamps with a total of twenty students. I began hosting 90-minute training sessions for over 80 new SAT tutors after receiving high-rated reviews from past students. My final months with Schoolhouse consisted of serving as the Moderator where I facilitated the operations of the SAT Subworld.
Tutor, Guide, Moderator
Months after I began tutoring a 7th-grade student, her math scores increased by over 10%. In preparation for the 7th Grade Math State Test, I created an online four-week course providing 2+ hours of informational content and dozens of practice questions with in-depth answers.
July 2023 - August 2024
Private Tutor
Through my extensive experience tutoring students from ages 3 to 17 in various courses and online & in-person, I ensure Smarts4Heart tutors are equipped with essential resources and training to help your child(ren) unlock their academic potential during tutoring sessions.
